A couple of Sr's plan Buffalo -Syr , Mid July. What Amtrak station is close to Bike Trail . Exchange Station or Buffalo Station. Any recommendations for close Hotels. Thanks Ed

I don't know the answer, but if nobody pipes up, you can use the search feature on the forum to look for "Exchange" and see previous discussions.

I don’t have an any direct knowledge, but I found the following book very helpful. Available online, e.g., Amazon, etc. “How to Cycle the Erie Canal in Style.” Author is Steven Scharaars, PhD. Very reliable info on distances, riding surfaces, sights along the way, hotels, restaurants, etc. Uptown date.

Did this exact trip last year. Myself 76, my mate 68
Amtrak to Buffalo exchange
4:30 pm arrival, a little late and picked up the canal trail immediately after some local detours.
Book the seats with the bikes.
$20 for bike.
Pedaled to Lockport that day.
Rochester next night, Seneca Falls, Syracuse.
Syrucuse Mets AAA game, Amtrak to Yonkers in the morning.
Great trip. Syracuse to Albany in June this year.
