We have a group of five riding the trail in a few weeks and will have four tents.

We are planning on camping at locks along the way, I noticed the locks are listed as first come first serve and limited to four tents.

If we arrive at a lock and there are other campers will we be turned away or will they allow our group?

I have seen on the NYS State Canal site its first come, but you should call the lock operator first. The Numbers are posted on their site

Some of these lock areas have huge grass footprints so I can’t imagine a scenario where you are turned away, if there is even anyone there to turn anyone away.
