Has anyone had COVID before doing the Buffalo to Albany section of the ride? I'm registered for the 8-day organized ride in July and I tested positive for COVID 2 days ago. In fact, I got sick 2 days after getting my 2nd booster shot! I feel like I'm getting over a nasty head cold. Not too sick but it did knock me down for the first 3 days. I feel a lot better but I'm only 5 days in. I'm an avid cyclist. I was riding 90 minutes on my exercise bike every day and walking for an hour during my lunch break. Everything I'm reading is telling me that returning back to exercise should be slow and gradual. My fear is that my training will be like having to start over and I won't be up for the distance. Anyone else been in this situation?

So you're an avid bicyclist. My thoughts? You've already been training and it won't take much to get you into "okay" shape after Covid -- especially if you had a mild case. It takes a while to regain full stamina, but with a month ahead you should be fine. But mostly... this is not a grueling ride. It is quite an easy excursion where you just have to put in the daily miles. There's lots of daylight so you don't have to beat yourself up and the changing scenery (and others with you) break up any boring moments. So... don't sweat it. Train the best you can and just enjoy the peddling and the scenery!
