Coming to ride some of the canal in the first week or so of Sept. Any opinions on the best 2 to 4 days along the trail?

I like the western end (Bflo to Syracuse) the best. It gives you a chance to see the small towns along the canal as well as stops in Buffalo and Rochester. You are following the current Barge Canal that is full of boats and paddlers, etc. A lot of history, the flight of 5 in Lockport, etc. etc.
