Is the trail hilly?

No I wouldn't call it hilly. Remember it mostly follows rivers and a canal, so there can't be too many hills.

I added a page showing the elevation profile for the trail.
As the graphs show, it is mostly small changes in elevation, but there are a few significant climbs:
