Weedsport to port byron

How much of the Weedsport to Port Byron portion of the Erie Canal Bike Trail is on busy streets? We started in Jordan hoping to go to Port Byron and back but we stopped in Weedsport when the Trail took us to a fairly busy road.

Did this yesterday, like a mile of it is on State road 31 and there wasn’t a lot of traffic.The shoulder/bike lane was wide and free of gravel.
