Interesting question -- best idea is to cut over to South Ave and pick up the Genesee River Greenway Trail that runs N-S thru Genesee Gateway Park. It connects to the Erie Canalway. That's several city blocks and then a couple miles(?) on the Greenway. But at that point... who cares, you're on the trail for all intents.
